Business on BSE was commenced on April 26, 1989 under the name SUBHASH V. SHAH (an individual firm) and continued as a corporate, SVS SECURITIES PVT. LTD., since February 1998. Membership of NSE was acquired in early 2000 and business was commenced in May 2000. The company is a trading cum clearing member for Derivatives Segment on NSE.

The company has also been very active in the Primary market since September 1992. It has had the distinction of being ranked among the top 50 brokers of the country (in terms of funds mobilized) for the 1993/94, top 25 for 94/95, 95/96 and 96/97 and among the top 10 brokers from Mumbai for the same period. In 1995/96 the company garnered nearly Rs. 800 crores.
